ARTIST BIO

 

Kayla James is a Jamaican American Illustrator and writer. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a BFA in Illustration and two minors in Art History, and English. She also graduated from the High School of Art and Design, and Parsons School of Design's Pre-College program. James has had her work exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Art and Design High School, Parsons School of Design, The Fashion Institute of Technology, and backstage of the Music Box Theater. She has won two National Scholastics Art Silver Medals, two Regional Gold Keys, one Silver Key, and one Honorable Mention in the Scholastics Art and Writing Awards. She also studies at the Art Students League. James aims to work in the book, and film/entertainment industry, producing posters, covers, interiors, picture book, graphic novel, and album cover art.
